We are the slaves of a war torn country.
That we must die for other men’s quarrels.
And it was our own country that killed us.

Out of the trenches, into No Man’s land.
Every man for himself, save your own soul.
We are the slaves of a war torn country.

Another slave lost, never to be found.
Who will look after his family now?
And it was our own country that killed us.

We watched as the bullets whipped by our ears.
Frightened, we ran for cover in panic.
We are the slaves of a war torn country.

If we return, we will be proud heroes.
Unless we survive, we will be forgotten.
And it was our own country that killed us.

Beneath smoke filled skies, we recall the war.
The last bullet fired, the last man downed.
We are the slaves of a war torn country.
And it was our own country that killed us.

This was for a history assignment. EVERYTHING WAS DONE IN ONE DAY ! It's so horrible ! But I am satisfied :D

it could be me and my vast idiocy, but i think that the childish mediums and design kind of makes an interesting effect when paired with such a serious topic like war.
also, that upside-down 'i' is very much win =]

childish mediums + serious topic ? I've never thought of this piece like that before. I was just using my resources I guess. I'm glad you liked it : D And good job at distinguishing the 'i' from a '!' . People at my school wouldn't know the difference. Yep, I wrote the poem > <

hehe, i learned a thing or two from all them bloody essays i wrote in art last year @_@ yr 11 is just a pain, but it taught me to pick up on these things. im sure you didnt mean for it to come across this way, but im an australian so i just make it up as i go :slow:
